I nterventional pulmonology is a new field within pulmonary medicine focused on the use of advanced bronchoscopic and pleuroscopic techniques for the treatment of a spectrum of thoracic disorders ranging from thoracic malignancy to benign diseases. Over the past decade there has been a tremendous growth by the introduction of formal training fellowships in the Interventional Pulmonology, advancing technology, and research in the biology of pulmonary diseases. Most recently, there have been advances in therapeutic treatment of asthma and emphysema, diagnostic procedures for malignancy, and further development of palliative procedures for malignant diseases
Lee has completed his medical school from St George?s University. He completed his Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, he is an Assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and is the Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship Director. He has published papers and textbook chapters in reputed journals, speaks at national conferences on Interventional Pulmonology, and serves on editorial board for a reputed medical journal.
