Abstract :

Today, health problems are increasing day by day due to changing living conditions and decreasing life quality standards. Especially vascular diseases are among the most important causes of morbidity and early death worldwide. Vascular structures; malnutrition, structural factors, poor working conditions, etc. It deteriorates over time depending on the reasons. Deteriorations in vascular structures affect other organs over time and cause complications. Depending on the developments and technological advances in the field of health, vascular diseases can be treated. In cases where medical drug treatment and non-pharmacological treatment are insufficient, vascular surgery is applied. As in every surgical procedure, nursing care plays a key role in vascular surgery. Patients need professional nursing care pre-, intra- and postoperative surgery. Nurses have many roles and responsibilities such as following patients closely, giving proper positioning, exercising, supporting them with a multidisciplinary approach, providing proper nutrition, using elastic bandages and providing pain control, determining and applying the most appropriate care plan for the patient, and ensuring that the patient regains his/her health in the early period. As a result, nurses, who come to the forefront with professional care services, have great duties and responsibilities for vascular surgery to be successful, for patients to recover in a short time, and to minimize complications and costs.
