Abstract :

Background & Objective: Platelet gel is a source of many soluble proteins (Growth Factors) that can modulate tissue regeneration. Stimulating dermal fibroblasts play an important role in tissue remodeling and wound healing. The study was performed to investigate the activity of platelet gel and its active ingredients on the proliferation of dermal fibroblasts, filling effect of nasolabial folds, cheeks, hands, rejuvenation of the skin, comparing to dermal filler and filler threads. Introduction: PRP gels has been used recently as a filling material in aesthetic plastic surgery practice. The gel has not only volume advantage but also the benefits of Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) and cytokines. Due to this, we used the PRP gel as a filling material for nasolabial folds, cheeks, hands. Material & Method: 35 patients were referred to our clinic with nasolabial fold, cheeks, hands augmentation due to aging. Mean age was (30-48 years old). We obtained PRP gel from their own blood without anesthesia, 10 ml blood was taken from the patient in special tube with anticoagulant. Blood was centrifuged and the platelet was separated in a 3cc syringe, it was applied in plasma gel devise for 45 minute (30 minute gradual heating and 15 minute cooling) injection was with 18 G cannula or 23 G needle about 4 cc plasma gel. Patients were visited at 1st week, 1th, 3th and 4th months. Photos and videos were taken before and after the procedure. Result: For the most patient PRP gel was seen in physical examination, gel was perceivable. Nasolabial fold area at 1th month, depth was reduced at static and dynamic visualization and their face were looked younger. Cheeks augmentation was good filled and skin texture were more firmed and radiant, hands also show reasonable result. Conclusion: There are many aesthetic treatments like injection of fillers, fat grafting operations and facelift procedures. We shared our patients whom we used PRP gel for filling the nasolabial fold, Cheeks augmentation, hands augmentation. PRP gel can be used as a filling material in aesthetic practice, PRP gels has been used in aesthetic treatments to decrease hematoma formation, postoperative swelling, and cost-effective method comparing to other treatments. sherifnokhal@gmail.com
