Aims: To offer a new tool set for stabilizing and producing well shaped and long term satanding tips in virtually any
rhinoplasty patient.
Methods: The use of the combination of a shorter-than-usual septal extention graft and a complementary subdommal
graft can offer both good suport for the nasal tip and a smooth and rounded shape both in thick and thin skin
patients. It can also serve as a resource for secondary rhinoplasties and in those patients where cartilage availability
is restricted in therms of lenth and strenth.
The SEG acts as the necessary suport for the tip and the subdomal graft provides smothness and stability.
Results: Almost any patient can benefit from it, and the tecnique has been proving itself very useful in primary
rhinoplasties, specialy in thick skin patients, and in all kinds of secondary rhinoplasties.
Long term stability and shape of the tip was achieved in all patients where the combination was used.
Conclusions: The combination of a shorter septal extension graft and a well positioned and trimmed subdomal graft
has been proving itself to be a valid alternative for combining suport and shape to the tip in all kinds of rhinoplasties
