Abstract :

Background & Aims: Nursing students live in anxiety before the clinical practice and evaluate how it affects a useful tool in this area is needed in our country with no such tool. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the â??Student Nurse Stress Index (SNSI)â? Methods: After obtaining the necessary permissions, Turkish language and cultural appropriateness of the inventory has been studied firstly. Research was conducted with 121 volunteers who attend a university college education female student in Ankara. In order to determine the construct validity of â??Student Nurse Stress Index (SNSI)â?, factor analysis was conducted. Results: Factor analysis yielded four factors: Academic load, clinical concerns, personal problems, interface worries. The Cronbachâ??s alpha for the SNSI was 0.88. The computed test re-test reliability coefficient for the SNSI was 0.89. Conclusion & References: The Turkish version of SNSI is an inventory which has sufficient reliability and validity for use in Turkish society.
