Abstract :

The present work summarizes current knowledge mainly about the (functional) morphology and ultrastructure and also about the biology, development, and evolution of reptiles in the Arabian Peninsula. Reptiles occur almost throughout the Arabian Peninsula. The ultrastructure of spermatogenesis and stages of development are known for many reptile species. The phylogenetic relationships within reptile species are unresolved. The recently published work in ultrastructure of spermatogenesis may suggest a closer relationship of some species and genus.

Biography :

Othman A Aldokhi is the director of the of the electron microscope unit at King Saud University. Professor Aldokhi holds a doctorate in developmental zoology (1990) from Southampton University, UK. He was the head of zoology department at College of Science, King Saud University.
