Abstract :

A sixteen buffaloes were reported and treated at Obstetrical ward, Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Udgir. The all cases were reported with the complaint of post partum uterine prolapse within 48 to 72 hrs after parturition. These animals showed symptoms such as straining, reduced feed and water intake, increased pulse and respiration rate, restlessness were recorded. Prolapsed mass soiled with dung, soil, injured, lacerations, swollen, necrosis, reddening was observed. The prolapsed mass was completely everted uterus and hanging down of oedematous. The prolapsed mass was replaced. Avoiding the recurrence uterine prolapse mass modified rope truss was applied. These animals were treated with broad spectrum antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, anti-histaminic and other drugs. All the cases were managed by application of special modified rope truss. After treatment the animals were recovered uneventfully.

A D Patil has completed his MVSc at the age of 25 years from MAU, Parbhani, Maharashtra, qualified NET in the subject of Animal Reproduction and presently In service PhD Scholar from Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur. He has published more than 50 papers in reputed journals.
