Globally, chronic kidney disease (CKD) is becoming more common and is closely linked to incident cardiovascular disease (CVD). The great majority of CKD patients suffer from hypertension, which can both cause and result from the disease. In people with CKD, controlling hypertension is crucial since it lowers the risk of CVD and slows the disease’s course. There is no agreement on the ideal blood pressure (BP) targets provided by current guidelines. Consequently, when deciding how to care specific patients, it is essential to comprehend the evidence that was utilised to develop these guidelines. In CKD, non-pharmacological therapies can help lower blood pressure, but they are rarely enough to achieve optimal blood pressure control. It is common for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and hypertension to need a mix of antihypertensive drugs to reach goal blood pressure. When starting therapy, it is important to take into account the additional BP-independent renoprotective and/or cardioprotective activity that some pharmaceutical treatments offer. Additional difficulties arise when managing hypertension during hemodialysis and after kidney donation. In the near future, novel therapies might improve care. Importantly, meeting BP goals, lowering the risk of CVD, and delaying the progression of CKD all depend on an evidencebased, customised management plan.

During her Ph.D she has worked on ‘Design and characterization of Acrylic Pressure sensitive adhesive based Transdermal therapeutic system to which she has been appreciated by Departrment of Polymer Sciences, IIT Kharagpur. Her area of interest is Transdermal Drug delivery and Gastroretentive drug delivery.
