Abstract :

The Medical & Health industry is going through major transformation worldwide. New age innovations and technological advancements are leading to these transformations. This paper covers the recent innovation and future technologies and how it is going to change the future of the Medical and health Industry. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) has been one of the leading innovations which has been changing the way we work at micro to macro level. There are many services which came into existence due to AI/ML like image processing, natural language processing etc. Whereas there are other services where AI/ML worked as enablers. Particularly in the medical environment, wearable devices and sensors are creating many opportunities for health professionals. There have been events where people's lives have been saved through sensor enabled watches like the Apple Watch. ML based stethoscopes are providing real time analysis and show it in the connected mobile application. Sensor enabled devices which could attach with inhalers to capture additional breadth data points which can be analyzed further for diagnosis. Going a step further, instead of wearing an individual sensor, a body suit / t-shirt is installed with multiple sensors to capture more information through-out the day. Metaverse and Blockchain are creating further advancement through telepresence. Especially after covid, the majority of the medical and health facilities are providing remote assessment and care. This experience can be further enhanced through metaverse where some hospitals have started opening their extended center in metaverse. Another innovation named blockchain is used to secure the private health information of the patient. As per various studies, there have been high investments in digital transformation projects but very few of those projects are successful beyond pilot programs. Hence this paper further covers how organizations and individuals can build the right environment to nurture an ecosystem for innovation using Vikas World-Class Quadrant. Change mindset which requires it to be adopted at every level to enable these transformations. Various industry players like medical & health professionals, innovators, researchers, technological partners would have to work closely to achieve the full potential of innovations to serve humanity effectively.
