Dr. Bartoli is a PGY3 in the Direct Cardiac Surgery program. His interests are surgical management of acquired and congenital heart disease, mechanical circulatory support, angiogenesis, and von Willebrand factor biology. In parallel with clinical training, Dr. Bartoli has obtained NIH, University of Pennsylvania, and industry support to perform ongoing investigations that examine biophysical mechanisms of LVAD-associated bleeding and thrombosis. Advancing the field of mechanical circulatory support and training physician-scientists are major goals of the laboratory. Dr. Bartoli will specialize in mechanical circulatory support and remain in academic cardiac surgery.
