Biography

Professor Goutam Kumar Sen, has received his PhD in Soliton and Solitary Wave with emphasis in the field of ocean wave in the year 1986 from Jadavpur University. His special interest was accelerated KdV Soliton. Currently he is a professor in the School of Oceanographic Studies at Jadavpur University in West Bengal, India. Before joining Jadavpur University he was research Scientist at Center for Atmospheric Sciences, University of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He has also worked with the Environmental Modeling group at Central Mining Research Institute, Dhanbad, India. He has also studied under faculty development Programme Scheme jointly conducted by British Council and University Grant Commission at School of Environmental Science at University of Estanlia, UK. His advisor was Dr. John Green, who was one of the finest thunderstorm experts. He has authored over 100 research papers reports and professional practice publications.
