Prof/Dr. Tatjana Abaffy has received his PhD in biological sciences at the University of Auckland, New Zealand during the period of 1996-2000. Currently, she is working as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Miami, Florida. Her research interests are cancer metabolism and olfactory recognition. She is using biological and computational approaches to identify cancer biomarkers and olfactory receptors that recognize these biomarkers. Based on this research and fellowship training she has received several awards and honors, such as: American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network (ASC-CAN). In addition to her translational and innovative research program, she is serving as a grant reviewer for the National Science Foundation and for the Italian Ministry of Health. Recently, she obtained a Certificate in Public Health. She is also serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Journal of Cancer Science and Therapy and Journal of Pharmacogenomics and Pharmacoproteomics & also as an expert Reviewer for journals like Metabolomics, PlosOne, European Journal of Cancer, Cancer Biomarkers Journal, Neuro-Signals and Tumor Biology. She has authored over 14 research articles. She is a member of AChemS, Association for Chemoreception Sciences.
