Toufic Nashar, DVM, PhD has completed his PhD from University of Bristol, United Kingdom, postdoctoral studies at Universities of Bristol and Kent, UK, and Albany Medical College, NY, USA. He held the post of Research Affiliate at Wadsworth Research Center, NY, USA. He is currently Assistant Professor Immunology/Virology at Tuskegee University, Alabama.
Current research work focuses on understanding mechanisms that mediate adjuvanticity and immunomodulation properties of E. coli enterotoxins to viral and bacterial antigens. Specific interest is in understanding mechanisms that control HIV-1 neutralization and production in the cell by using therapeutic peptides in the presence or absence of bacterial toxins.
