Aortic Dissection is a serious medical condition in which the inner wall of aorta is torn which leads to blood flow between the walls of the Blood vessel. Aorta is the major artery that carries blood from the heart. It may lead to aortic rupture or decreased flow of blood to body parts. Causes and risk factors are high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, ageing & connective tissue diseases (Marfan syndrome). Symptoms begin suddenly with chest pain, heavy sweating & pain confusing with that of Myocardial infarction.
