Application of molecular medicine to the clinics which are useful in treatment of infectious diseases. These methods have become increasingly important in clinical microbiology laboratory in detection and characterization of virus infections. Molecular detection has mostly been introduced in the clinical microbiology labs in the form of PCR technology. On the contrary micro array technology such as the DNA chip will further increase the utility of molecular detection in the clinical microbiology labs.
