DNA Analysis is used in detection and prosecution of crime. It is used by the defense to help ensure that prosecutions are safe. The biological evidences used in forensic science for the purpose of DNA Analysis are blood, saliva, skin, urine and hair. The most commonly methods used for DNA Analysis are Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Electrophoresis, Variable Number Tandem Repeats (VNTRs) and Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphisms (RFLPs). DNA Analysis is not genome sequencing.
