Treatment is different for both slow heartbeats and fast heartbeats. • For slow heartbeats: Patients are treated with the pacemaker that reliably speeds up the heart. It is a device that is usually implanted near the collarbone. • For fast heartbeats: treatment may include one or more of the following: a.) Vagal maneuvers: It is done by using particular maneuvers that include holding your breathe and straining or coughing to stop arrhythmia that starts above the lower half of the heart. b.) Medications: medications are prescribed to control the heart rate or restore a normal heart rhythm.
