Multiple Sclerosis is an inflammatory disease of brain and spinal cord where the insulating covers of nerve cells are damaged. It is an autoimmune disorder that affects the central nervous system. It may be caused by geography, genetics, infectious agents and others. Symptoms include weakness, tingling, numbness and blurred vision. Drugs that are used for treatment are interferon beta-1a (Avonex, Rebif), peginterferon beta-1a (Plegridy), teriflunomide (Aubagio), fingolimod (Gilenya), mitoxantrone (Novantrone), dimethyl fumarate (Tecfidera) and natalizumab (Tysabri).
