Pediatric Transplant is Program for Children is a major center for organ transplants of children. Surgeons and transplant teams are at the forefront of pediatric organ transplantation and work to ensure optimal treatment before, during and after transplant.
The pediatric transplant team is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of specialist committed to providing highly skilled and complex level care for all children suffering from kidney and/or liver diseases. Current limitations included delay in hematopoietic reconstitution, increased incidence of primary graft failure and slow cellular immunoreconstitution. These limitations lead to a significant increase in primary graft failure, infectious complications and increased transplant-related mortality.
