Preventive Medicine is an important and effective way of keeping the patient healthier. It is practiced by various licensed doctors, physicians to meet the health requirements of the patients. The main aim of this unique medicinal specialized procedure is to maintain, protect and promote health of all humans, belonging to different populations and communities for the prevention of diseases and disabilities among the individuals leading to death.
Preventive medicine specialists are licensed medical doctors (MD) or doctors of osteopathy (DO), who possess core competencies in bio statistics, epidemiology, environmental and occupational medicine, planning and evaluation of health services, management of health care organizations, research into causes of disease and injury in population groups, and the practice of prevention in clinical medicine. They apply knowledge and skills gained from the medical, social, economic, and behavioral sciences.
