Routes of Transmission

Pathway of disease causing agent from source to the site of infection in susceptible host. The type of transmission route different for different pathogen and host. Some micro organisms are restricted to a limited number of transition routes, whereas others can follow many different pathways to infect their hosts. Some types of routes of transmission types are direct transmission, like vertical transmission, indirect transmission like vehicle borne transmission, vector born transmission, Air borne transmission.
