One of the most important types of immune cells is T lymphocytes/T cells, a type of white blood cell that acts as the core of adaptive immunity, the system that modifies the immune response to specific pathogens. One of the Virus HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, a pathogen that works by attacking the human immune system which specifically targets CD4 cells. Over time, HIV weakens a person’s immune system so it has a very hard time fighting disease.
